Biography
Dr. Leila Kheirandish-Gozal is currently the director of clinical sleep research in the Section of Pediatric Sleep Medicine at the University of Chicago. She has extensively published over 80 papers in prestigious peer reviewed journals and has acquired extramural funds from industry through investigator-initiated projects as well as from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). She has been an invited speaker at multiple national and international meetings and has collaborations with other investigators around the world. She is an associate editor for Frontiers in Chronobioneurology and Sleep Medicine and a member of the editorial board for the journals of Sleep Medicine and Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine. She is also a program committee member of the Assembly on Sleep and Respiratory Neurobiology of the American Thoracic Society as well as a steering committee member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
Research Interest
Dr. Leila Kheirandish-Gozal research interest include Explore changes in the systemic vasculature that may reflect morbid consequences of sleep disorders in children as well as the presence of rare gene variants that may shed light into mechanistic determinants of sleep apnea in children.
