Cardiovascular Diseases

Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) refer to a group of disorders affecting the heart and blood vessels. Common types include coronary artery disease, which can lead to heart attacks; stroke, caused by interrupted blood flow to the brain; and hypertension, or high blood pressure, which can strain the heart and arteries. Risk factors for CVDs include high cholesterol, smoking, obesity, lack of physical activity, and poor diet. Managing these risk factors through lifestyle changes and medical treatment is crucial for prevention and control.
